The fifth day of the “Energize Your Body, Optimize Your Life” project, implemented under the Erasmus+ Programme and coordinated by FI Gesundheits- und Sportverein with Craft Education Bulgaria as a partner organization, featured a variety of activities aimed at enhancing self-awareness, promoting mental well-being, encouraging community engagement, and raising awareness about environmental sustainability. Held in Klagenfurt, Austria, the activities provided youth workers with practical tools and methods that can be applied in both their professional and personal lives.
The day began with a creative self-reflection activity designed to help participants better understand themselves and start the day with a positive mindset. Through exercises focusing on themes such as “My Superpower,” “Something I Am Proud Of,” “Something That Makes Me Happy Today,” and “Who Will I Help Today?”, participants had the opportunity to reflect on and share their strengths, achievements, aspirations, and values. This activity helped group members get to know one another better while strengthening empathy, trust, and sincerity within the group.
Following this session, participants attended a workshop on sport and mental health, where the psychological benefits of physical activity were explored through scientific evidence and practical examples. Youth workers learned about the positive effects of sport on stress management, motivation, self-confidence, and sleep quality. They also practiced simple stretching exercises and breathing techniques that can be easily incorporated into everyday life. During group work sessions, participants developed creative ideas on how to encourage young people to engage in sports and physical activity and presented their proposals to the rest of the group.
Another highlight of the day was an outdoor sport and mobility activity organized with the involvement of members of the local community. Participants and volunteers explored parks, walking paths, and sports facilities in Klagenfurt while taking part in a series of exercise stations featuring endurance, strength, stretching, and breathing activities. This initiative demonstrated that sport is not only a tool for improving physical health but also an effective way to foster social interaction and community engagement. Group photos and social media posts shared during the activity further increased the visibility of the project and its objectives.
The final session of the day focused on sustainable living and recycling through a hands-on creative workshop. Participants transformed used plastic bottles, glass jars, old T-shirts, newspapers, and cardboard materials into decorative and practical products. Throughout the workshop, they learned about the environmental benefits of recycling and explored sustainable habits that can be adopted in everyday life. As a result, youth workers not only increased their awareness of environmental issues but also discovered that recycling can be both a creative and productive process.
Through these diverse activities, the fifth day of the project successfully combined personal development, mental well-being, active citizenship, healthy lifestyles, and environmental responsibility, further supporting the overall objectives of the “Energize Your Body, Optimize Your Life” project.
